Description

COME ABOARD UBUS THEATRE; a school bus transformed into a performance venue! Suitable for all ages 7 and up: Limited to 32 seats per performance. Created in Canada in 2017, the play has been a resounding success. A playful and poetic flight of fancy, giving way to worlds enhanced by music, The Sail Piano is an ode to joy and resilience. Under the virtuoso fingers of the two actor-puppeteers, the puppets come to life and reveal a heartfelt story. It is the story of Louis L'Oiseau, a lonely pianist whose music has suddenly stopped, and who, on the threshold of death, sees the pivotal moments of his life flash before his eyes. And the story of Eva, a child in love with music who became a devoted nurse, in whom the old man believes he recognizes the daughter he thought he had lost. Their two destinies intersect around a hospital bed. Memories intertwine, giving way to moments of touching connection. Enhanced by the soundscape and truly remarkable visuals, the story gently and sensitively soothes the viewer's imagination and emotions.
