Description
Population 287
The village owes its name to the roar of “Thunder River,” as the local waterway was long called. Perched on a rocky shoreline, Rivière-au-Tonnerre is known for its crab fishing, the many inlets that dot the shoreline, and its 33-metre high falls. The village centre has a wooden walkway with interpretive panels and picnic tables where you can relax and watch the marine mammals swim by. Summer's end is the perfect time to pick many tasty local berry varieties.
