Dress warmly!

The Northern Lights

Witness a colorful spectacle when you travel through Caniapiscau and Fermont! This luminous phenomenon is created when solar winds from our Sun hit the Earth's thermosphere! The Northern Lights are most visible during the winter, but it is also possible to see them during the fall.

Look up!

The ski centers

There are two ski and snow sports centers on the North Shore: Mont Ti-Basse in Baie-Comeau and Station récréotouristique Gallix near Port-Cartier. These two ski resorts offer tubing and several mountain trails. Perfect for family activities, these two resorts are a must for the North Shore winter.

On your skis!

The White Route of the Lower North Shore

The Route Blanche is a snowmobile trail mainly intended for residents of the Lower North Shore to facilitate their travel in winter. It is also the only continuous land link between Natashquan (Pointe-Parent) and Blanc-Sablon, allowing residents to travel between villages more easily than during the summer! Discover the Lower North Shore by snowmobile during a guided expedition.
