It's hard to talk about winter without mentioning snowmobile club trail rides. Discover the snowy landscapes of the boreal forest on more than 1000 kilometers of trails, from Sacré-Coeur to Baie-Johan-Beetz, and through the 14 snowmobile clubs that maintain the trails.


The Northern Lights
Witness a colorful spectacle when you travel through Caniapiscau and Fermont! This luminous phenomenon is created when solar winds from our Sun hit the Earth's thermosphere! The Northern Lights are most visible during the winter, but it is also possible to see them during the fall.
The ski centers
There are two ski and snow sports centers on the North Shore: Mont Ti-Basse in Baie-Comeau and Station récréotouristique Gallix near Port-Cartier. These two ski resorts offer tubing and several mountain trails. Perfect for family activities, these two resorts are a must for the North Shore winter.


The White Route of the Lower North Shore
The Route Blanche is a snowmobile trail mainly intended for residents of the Lower North Shore to facilitate their travel in winter. It is also the only continuous land link between Natashquan (Pointe-Parent) and Blanc-Sablon, allowing residents to travel between villages more easily than during the summer! Expeditions in the Groulx Mountains
he protected territory of the Manicouagan-Uapishka Biosphere Reserve, including the Groulx Mountains, is an exceptional territory for your outdoor activities in summer and winter. With the help of a specialized guide, you can explore the territory of the Groulx Mountains in summer and winter. The Uapishka Station serves as a relay for travelers. A good preparation is necessary and a quota of snowmobilers on the territory is required. The sector is designated as a biodiversity zone, an area protected by the Ministry of the Environment. Twenty-four snowmobiles are allowed on the site each day. Snowmobilers are enchanted by the abundant snow, the unique nature and the feeling of being alone in the world that the Uapishka Biodiversity Reserve offers.
