Description

Located about 20 kilometres from Fermont, the ArcelorMittal Mines Canada G.P. complex employs about 1,500 workers at its open pit mine and concentration plant. These facilities boast an impressive fleet of mining equipment, including the biggest production trucks in eastern Canada and the biggest cable shovels in the world. Visitors must wear long sleeves and closed flat-heeled shoes. Minimum age: 10 (accompanied by an adult). Groups of up to 15. Video cameras prohibited. Reservations required at the Fermont Visitor Information Centre.
