Tadoussac is a dream destination for an autumn getaway. This small coastal village is brimming with charm and is located at the entrance of the North Shore, just 3 hours from Quebec City. Here are some activities to add to your itinerary to make your getaway memorable:

Stay at Hotel Tadoussac

For a comfortable stay, book your nights at Hotel Tadoussac. Located in the heart of the village, the hotel is a perfect retreat for a romantic getaway, family vacation, or trip with friends. Opt for the bed and breakfast package to start your day off right. End the day with a delicious meal at one of the hotel's restaurants.

Strolling through the village

The village of Tadoussac is beautiful. Plan to spend a few hours walking through its streets, exploring its small shops, and visiting its chapel. Stop by Café l'Abri Côtier for a comforting drink. It's the best way to stay warm on a cool day by the water!

Eating at a snack bar

No getaway is complete without a meal at a snack bar. If the weather allows, grab your meal to go and enjoy it with a beautiful view. For example, Pointe-de-l'Islet and the dunes are gorgeous spots for a picnic!

Whale watching

September and October are excellent months for whale watching and observing many other marine mammals on the North Shore. We highly recommend taking a cruise in the Saguenay - St. Lawrence Marine Park to see them in their natural habitat.

It is also possible to observe whales from the shore at several locations in Tadoussac, including the Pointe-de-l'Islet trail and from the rocks in front of the CIMM.

While you're interested in whales, why not visit the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre (CIMM)? This scientific museum will allow you to explore the world of whales from multiple perspectives, thanks to the largest collection of whale skeletons in Canada and the naturalists on site to answer your questions.

Go for a hike

Want to see Tadoussac from a different perspective? Go for a hike! The village is surrounded by trails for all levels of hikers. For a short walk, opt for the Pointe-de-l'Islet trail, where you can learn about the history of the area and its marine ecosystems through interpretive panels. The Fjord trail offers various forest hikes ranging from 3.6 km to 43 km. No matter which trail you choose, take the time to stop and admire the landscape and the belugas.
