It was transported near a wooded area, on the banks of the Little Natashquan River, a few decades ago. The new school had just been built and the old one no longer had its place on the Chemin d'en Haut.
Since 1913, it has aged, but we have preserved it. In 2006, people from the village donated more than 2,000 hours of volunteer time to restore it.
Fortunately! Because, today, the walls where the young Gilles Vigneault studied alongside Landry, Bourgeois, Lapierre, Cormier, Carbonneau and Hounsell, house an exhibition on the work of Gilles Vigneault, the famous poet from Natashquan.
The concept developed wants to pay homage to the author in the midst of characters that he named, sang and magnified. The school is too modest to accommodate them all, Gilles' track record is too long... but this wink signifies the attachment of the people of this country.
A great opportunity to discover Natashquan through some songs by Gilles Vigneault.
